Painless process proffers profitable payback
Lists are satisfying, don’t you think? They serve as both map and motivation. Few things are so rewarding as crossing something off a list. It’s in that spirit that this process exists. Thinking about working with us? Here’s how it’s gonna go down. No surprises, no confusion. Just easy, step-by-step loveliness from a guy that likes to keep things simple.
- Set your goals
- What do you want this website to do? What part of it do you need me for? How are you going to design it? These are some questions you’ll want to answer before you even get in touch. Having a good battle plan going in will save you time (and money) in the long run. Not sure how to get started? Consider my consulting services for some seriously hot soup-to-nuts action.
- Quote & deposit
- With some goals in mind, we can get together and figure out what it’s going to cost. I’ll take half down to get started. This lets me know you’re serious about the work you need done and makes it possible for me to reserve the time for you. I can take a credit card, check or cold, hard cash (warm, soft cash preferred).
- Send the design over
- Time to get down to business. I prefer layered Photoshop PSD files, just because they are quicker (i.e. cheaper) to cut up for web placement, but have worked with pages sent over in PDF, JPG, GIF, AI, and INDD as well. This is also when I’ll take your page copy. If I have any questions or need something special, I’ll let you know long before it becomes a problem.
- Twiddle your thumbs
- I’ll take the files you sent and turn them into beautiful, accessible, search-engine-friendly web pages. Again, I’ll be quick to get in touch with any issues, and you’ll have password-protected access to monitor progress on my secure staging server.
- Review and settle up
- Once my work is complete, we’ll make sure the work is free of errors and ready to deliver. Then I’ll take the remaining balance due and deliver the files to you however you’d like them. For most people, that means uploading them to an FTP server somewhere to get viewed on the Internet, but I can also provide you with a ZIP file (or whatever you’d prefer). Don’t know where you’re going to host your site? You’re in luck.
- Gloat, baby, gloat
- Sit back in your chair with your feet up on the desk and be your client’s hero. You earned it. I’ll be around to work out any (unlikely) kinks should they arise.
