Colosseum Condo

XHTML & CSS Cutup from PDF file / Calendar Content Management

From humble beginnings…

This was my very first cutup project. It surprised me at the time to learn that people would pay this kind of money for something I considered a hobby. The site was for Colosseum Condo, a sports hotel in Blacksburg, VA. It was a super clean layout that only needed the most basic CSS, along with a fairly simple calendar engine.

The cutup was done from supplied PDF files and a simple two-column layout. The calendar engine was modified from freeware to fit the client’s needs. I wish there was more to say about it, but really this was as simple as a job could get.

As it turns out, they ended up going with someone else (and then someone else, again) for their website, so the version I did no longer exists. I have a copy of it staged for posterity’s sake on my server (the calendar functionality has been disabled). The current site (which in no way resembles what I worked on) can be seen at http://www.thecolosseumblacksburg.com/.
