Roanoke Arts Festival 2007
XHTML & CSS Cutup from PDF file / Google Maps Implementation / JavaScript / Ticketing Integration / PHP Templating
The Roanoke Arts Festival is an annual music and arts event in my humble hometown of Roanoke, VA. For their first annual event, I worked with the designer, the ticketing company, and the city to make sure the project was a success.
The site was put together with standard CSS and the images were cut up from PDF files. We used Google’s mapping service to give interaction directions to venues and PHP to template out the content areas for easy updating and for easy randomization of featured events. I was also in charge of managing site updates throughout the pre-event season.
Ticket sales were managed by an outside vendor contracted through the city, which I integrated with the rest of the site.
This site received a PRSA Summit Award and can be seen at http://www.roanokeartsfest.org/2007.
